Update on Environment Working Party

Thanks to all who came and helped on Sunday morning 11th December. As I had many people say they were at church, and could not make that time we have decided to hold the next working party on Sunday January 8th but start at 1.30 pm. We should have light until about 4 ish.

All the ivy has been cut along the old Tudor wall, this should now die back and be removed carefully later. I have put rabbit guards on most of the orchard trees in the Wellhouse meadow, and next time we need to prune, remove grass from around the trees and put down black weed suppressers and 4 stakes to prevent the mower pushing over any more of our lovely trees. Hopefully we can dig holes to plant the remaining fruit trees and a young oak.

Anyone who would like some free black compost should take a spade and bag inside the gate to the right. There is a large pile of old grass cuttings composted down and free to the first to get there.

Please contact me if you wish to get further details. All are welcome, including children.
