The South Cambridgeshire District Council is undertaking a community governance review of the parish of Haslingfield because the new housing development at Trumpington Meadows will alter the geographical spread of housing across the parish. The resulting spatial separation between the two population centres will no longer correspond to a parish boundary that reflects a natural settlement pattern. Furthermore, the two populations may not share a common identity or interests. So Have your say in the Haslingfield Parish community governance review.

The Haslingfield Parish Council meets on the second Monday of each month in the Village Hall. A public consultation on proposed Cambridgeshire and Peterborough devolution

SCDCA public consultation has been launched to gather views on a proposed Cambridgeshire and Peterborough devolution deal. The formal consultation follows all the Councils in the area agreeing to sign up to launching a consultation. The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough deal follows initial proposals by Government for a deal covering the whole of East Anglia.

Parish Council Members

Only six nominations were submitted for Parish Councillors in Haslingfield for the elections scheduled for 5th May 2016. Thus all those nominated were declared elected unopposed and will assume their duties from 9th May 2016.

The Parish Council is looking to invite expressions of interest from residents who might wish to be considered to serve in the vacancies on the Parish Council. Selection will be by an initial screening and then by interview by the council of screened volunteers before deciding on any co-option and the council reserves the right not to co-opt any or all applicants. Textile Bank at Porkers Lane

South Cambridgeshire District Council provides a network of textile and book recycling banks across the District. The contractor delivering this service notified the council late last week that they will begin removing all banks during week commencing 15 February and 22 February.
This extreme lack of notice has not allowed an alternative arrangement to be put in place and regrettably there will be a period where recycling bring facilities will not be available. For more details, click Read more

30mphCCC Highways and Communities Infrastructure Committee approved the Haslingfield Phase 1  at their meeting on Tuesday 18th November 2014 and CCC Highways now are going to place an order with Skanska for the work to be done. News on the work programme will follow soon.

Haslingfield & Harlton Youth Club Bus Project – News

connectionsHaslingfield and Harlton Parish Councils  have now taken over all responsibilities for ‘The Connections Youth Bus’, to ensure that our young people continue to benefit from this very valuable facility.

If you have children (year 7 onwards) please encourage them to come along to Haslingfield Village Hall Car Park on a Wednesday after school (16.00 to 18.00) to enjoy the benefits accruing from the commitment of our Parish Council.
