FAO Haslingfield bus users – the 75 bus service

Concerns have been raised locally that the 75 bus service is being withdrawn. Cambs County Council have, however, confirmed that this is incorrect and it is the contract for this service that is expiring. Apparently bus operators have already submitted their applications as part of the re-tendering process and County Councillors are expected to vote on this in March (date tbc). Previous advice was that they expect to maintain services in the short term. The Parish Council has, however, taken this opportunity to write to our assigned County Councillors to both point out the value of this service to its users and seek their reassurance that it will continue.

Volunteers Cordially Invited

This Sunday (12th) we are going out again from 1.30, meeting at the Wellhouse gate with work to complete.
Jo Fullick has been doing sterling work on the ivy almost daily, but it is a long wall with still some more careful cutting to do.  This Sunday we have 5 new trees to plant in the community orchard – 4 fruit trees and a small oak.
Also to complete putting grass suppressing polythene around all the trees – this needs to be tucked down into grooves to prevent it flying away. Read more

A Community Governance Review for the Parish of Haslingfield

SCDC

SCDC

The South Cambridgeshire District Council is undertaking a community governance review of the parish of Haslingfield because the new housing development at Trumpington Meadows will alter the geographical spread of housing across the parish. The resulting spatial separation between the two population centres will no longer correspond to a parish boundary that reflects a natural settlement pattern. Furthermore, the two populations may not share a common identity or interests. So Have your say in the Haslingfield Parish community governance review.
