I am sorry to announce that Frances Laville, the Parish Clerk will be leaving her role during May 2018. She has been appointed as Parish Clerk for the village of Caldecote. We would like to thank her for the sterling work that she has done for the parish, we will miss her greatly but wish her every success in her new role.

Parish Councils will hold elections this year on 3rd May.  Parish and district council elections will now occur every four years simultaneously. The plans for the Village Hall extension will be on display for review and discussion prior to the next Parish Council meeting at 7pm on Monday 12th February 2018 in the Village Hall.

Results of the Phase 3 Traffic Calming Ballot

The votes were checked and counted by Frances Laville, Parish Clerk and Jenny Jullien, Chairman and validated against the Electoral Register. There are 1,272 people on the register of whom 500 voted, 39%.
Of the 500 votes cast;

  • 182 voted YES, 36%
  • 290 voted NO, 58%
  • 28 votes cast were invalid.

Therefore, phase 3 of the traffic calming scheme will not be implemented.

Advice On How To Stay Well This Winter

Winter weather can be seriously bad for our health so here is some information on how to stay well.

Traffic Calming Phase 3

Three meetings have been arranged, for anyone who is interested, to see the plans of the third phase of the traffic calming scheme and ask any questions, on the following days: 

Friday 6th October at 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm in the Village Hall
Saturday 7th October at 2.30 pm in the Methodist Church

By now everyone in the village who is on the electoral register should have received an explanation of Phase 3 together with a ballot paper and a map. If you haven’t please do contact Jenny Julien on 872 848, Mobile – 07450 910 015 or jenny.jullien@icloud.com and she will get a copy to you. All completed ballot papers must be returned by 31st October 2017.
